Earth’s Orchestra

At GCP poetry group we spent some time thinking of Silence, discussing, meditating, associating. thanks Janis for the session.

Earth’s Orchestra

In a myriad of voices
where lies the sound of silence?
In a myriad of voices
competing for place
where is the room for silence?
In the myriad spaces of the world
in there a gap of quietness?

Ears hear an ocean of noises
no place for nothingness.
Breath moves with its rhythms
Peace falls slowly, tranquilly,
Surprise, bang of door or sound of storm,
There is no break in brokenness.

Throw words to the wind,
speak soft and slow or rage and go
Birds twitter their essential doings
their music carried to the orchestra of the air.
No noise calls in vacuum, or empty space
O in a silent grave.

There, the creatures of the earth continue,
forgetting human noise,
finding grace.

I would like to hear what you think of this. Please tell me
