It seemed not possible to host a poetry site with just my own poetry posted. There are so many wonderful sites where poetry can be found that I am not spending time linking, but many come from The Poetry Foundation. This page, and those that might follow it are for the occasional poem which just caught a mood in a moment.

Vertigo

By Anne Stevenson

Mind led body
to the edge of the precipice.
They stared in desire
at the naked abyss.
If you love me, said mind,
take that step into silence.
If you love me, said body,
turn and exist.
